Friends of Ridgewood

This page is dedicated to the Friends of Ridgewood.

The Friends of Ridgewood is a non-profit Historical Organization dedicated to the preservation and history of Ridgewood Golf Course. Ridgewood Golf Course dates back to 1925, developed by Howard Stahl as a way to attract future residents to a developing Parma, Ohio. This valuable and beautiful greenspace should be preserved for future generations. In 1969, the city of Parma purchaed the golf course saving Ridgewood from destruction and becoming a development. No taxpayer's money was used to purchase Ridgewood, instead a revenue bond was issued and profits from the golf course retired the debt, built the sprinkler system and contruction of the cart paths.

The Friends of Ridgewood's purpose is to raise funds for physical improvments and support programs connected to the golf course like the junior golf league.

1. Funds raised will be used for the youth golf program to encourage young participation in the future of golf at Ridgewood.

2. Funds will be used to improve the facilities both to the course and/or clubhouse.

3. Other improvements as needed ...ie...bunker renovation, new signage or cosmetic upgrades surrounding the clubhouse.

Membership is only $25.00 and donations are encouraged. Dantions can be allocated for specific improvements or programs.

Applications to become a member can be found at the golf course. To become a donor or member please contact either Jack Krise at (216)-577-3076 or Lori Waycaster at (440)-888-1057.
